Sleep Tips for Your Child — Part 2
Part two of the children's sleep series: talking to your child and building a calming bedtime routine.

In the previous post, we talked about the importance of agreement among caregivers and how daytime sleep affects a child's night. Today we continue with two more practical tips that make a big difference in the bedtime routine.
Talk to your child. If they're already able to understand, calmly explain that you're helping them learn to fall asleep on their own — both at the start of the night and during nighttime awakenings. This simple conversation builds security, prepares the child emotionally for the process, and shows that you're on their side every step of the way.
Create a relaxing bedtime routine. Once the child is lying in the crib or bed, tell a story or sing softly. No screens before bed — light and stimulation get in the way of falling asleep. This calming sequence, repeated every night, teaches the child's brain to recognize that it's time to rest and helps induce sleep naturally and consistently.
Remember: each step should be introduced calmly and at your child's own pace. In the next post, one more important tip on helping them fall asleep with more autonomy!
Care that begins with a conversation.
